Stewards VISTA: Western Alliance for Restoration Management
 
 
 
The Western Alliance for Restoration Management’s mission is to build a future workforce in mine reclamation by providing students with on-the-ground, real-world experience in site assessment, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. The goal is for students to hone valuable job skills in projects at mine sites across Colorado while building the kinds of collaborative partnerships that will serve them throughout their careers.

Member Duties : The VISTA will be responsible for develop processes for: Keeping track of important organizational documents, organizing and attending meetings, and building relationships with other local entities. Additionally, the VISTA will be helping develop projects and internships that will specifically benefit students at Western Colorado University, or the partner institutions: Fort Lewis College, and Colorado School of Mines. It is WARMS goal for future projects to have more impact for indigenous and underserved communities. Grant writing and aiding the executive director with fundraising will also be ongoing tasks for the VISTA. The VISTA will additionally work within Western Colorado University’s team of interdisciplinary fellows and AmeriCorps VISTAS, who will work together to address dynamic and difficult issues in the environmental sector
