| Member Duties : One IHRS Summer VISTA will assist in conducting capacity assessments with food pantries, support trainings with Connecticut Food Bank/Foodshare’s agency network, and provide technical assistance on implementation of best practices. We expect to engage at least 10 food pantries in this effort.
Nine Network/Programs Team Summer VISTAs will perform the following duties: Help distribute food at various partner program distribution sites throughout Connecticut; Assist staff in coordinating and orienting volunteers who are assisting with the distribution; Sort and package food for distribution; Help create a safe environment for all involved, including enforcing social distancing and other precautions as needed; Gather and compile general intake information from guests; Help promote community resources available to address the diverse needs of households served; Help create a welcoming environment for volunteers and guests.
