Now accepting applications for five full-time, 12 month AmeriCorps VISTA Taskforce Coordinator positions to begin August 2. Positions will coordinate community projects, organize volunteers, and build capacity around one of five focus areas: Equity and Inclusion, Family Engagement, Healthy Readers, School Readiness, or Skills Gap. Be a member of a new cohort of VISTA members convening stakeholder task force groups to BROADEN THE REACH of community-based interventions and INCREASE THE EFFECTIVENESS of community agencies to align their respective resources to better support community-education priorities and improve equity for sustained change in Grinnell, Iowa. Coordinators will convene stakeholders to pilot and/or enhance 2 to 3 projects. Following the framework of the national Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, the Partnership strives to close the performance gap for middle and low-income students. Vista Members will serve Grinnell area PK-12 students and families and work with community stakeholders and volunteers to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty and ensure equity and inclusion for kids and families in the greater Grinnell area by improving educational opportunities and outcomes for all students.

Member Duties : VISTA member will coordinate community projects, organize volunteers, and build capacity around a focus area (Equity and Inclusion, Family Engagement, Healthy Readers, School Readiness, or Skills Gap). Activities will include: -COLLABORATION CAPACITY BUILDING. VISTA members will meet on a regular basis to share challenges, opportunities, best practices & ideas for aligning community-based initiatives. -IDENTIFY AND CONVENE. Convene regular taskforce meetings with community stakeholders to identify community needs, activities, and priorities. -PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION. Pilot and/or enhance 2 to 3 projects in respective focus area to better align community resources to support kids and families in a sustainable way. -EVALUATION. Document and assess service year activities to contribute to long-term impact of the Grinnell Education Partnership.
