*MTCC VISTA Summer Associate Boys and Girls Club of Cascade

The Boys and Girls Club of Cascade County enables all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We offer a comprehensive youth development program known as our Outcome Driven Club Experience that focuses on three priority outcomes: academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character & citizenship. We believe that while the potential of Cascade County youth is unlimited, opportunities available to them are not. According to the Montana Afterschool Alliance, parents list three main barriers for their children to attend out of school programming: affordability, availability, and transportation. Our Clubs work to eliminate these barriers through various programs, services, and scholarship opportunities in order to ensure success is within reach of every child. We believe every child should have somewhere safe, fun, affordable, and beneficial to be when school is out.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate will support the Boys and Girls Club of Cascade County’s summer meal program as it makes fresh, healthy meals available to all kids when school is not in session. The member will work to increase awareness of the meal program by canvassing low-income neighborhoods and sharing informational materials with a variety of local businesses. The member will provide support in meal preparation and distribution at meal sites and the local food pantry. The member will also accurately track data associated with the distribution of meals.
