Catherine McAuley Center: Children's Learning Center, IAMNCC

The Catherine McAuley Center offers hope and opportunity through educational and supportive services that promote stability, skill-building, and connection. The main demographics we serve are women, refugees, and immigrants. More than 450 students and clients access services from the Catherine McAuley Center in a typical year, from educational classes to case management and job search assistance. Many of these students have young children, who come with them to the center. This VISTA position addresses a strong need in our community for educational programming for children while their parents receive other forms of assistance. Project goals: Member will research and develop multicultural learning activities, which meet the needs of clientele. Member will implement children’s programming, recruit and train volunteers. Member will evaluate programming and provide recommendations for continuation. This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing full-time capacity building support in nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Interviews will occur on a rolling basis. Preference given to candidates who apply early.***
