"The AmeriCorps VISTA Leader serving with Campus Compact will build program capacity alongside our staff team based in Boston, MA and Chicago, IL. Our leaders support our multi-state cohort of AmeriCorps members in CT, CO, IL, KS, MA, MI, MO, NE, RI, SD, VA, WI, and WY. Campus Compact is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to advancing the public purposes of higher education and an intermediary sponsor for an AmeriCorps VISTA program. A projected 65 AmeriCorps members will be leveraged by higher education institutions and their community partners to build capacity for education, economic success, healthy futures, and veterans & military families that directly impact economically disadvantaged individuals. As a corps, Campus Compact AmeriCorps members benefit from a variety of professional development opportunities and shared virtual and in-person training including overnight retreats throughout their service year. You will be part of a team of up to five VISTA leaders and three staff members supporting the personal and professional development of Campus Compact's cohort of AmeriCorps members throughout their service year. Three positions will be located in Massachusetts in Boston, MA and two in Illinois in the metropolitan Chicago area. **Please note: You must have served a full term as either an AmeriCorps member or Peace Corps member to be eligible to serve as a VISTA Leader. Based on the cost of living in the county in which you will serve, the biweekly living allowance for these positions is $1,242.92 in Boston (Suffolk County). In addition to the benefits listed, Campus Compact will provide $400/month rent support paid directly to the landlord as well as access to professional development opportunities for individuals serving in these roles. Member Duties : The Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA Leader will assist in the creation and provision of member training, technical assistance, resources, and support to the national Campus Compact cohort. The VISTA Leader will maintain regular communication with an assigned portfolio of members and host site program staff via phone, email, periodic in-person meetings, and site visits. Alongside the build out of annual training and member support program, VISTA Leaders conduct and develop data collection & evaluation processes, research, and resource materials for VISTA host sites and members, and build capacity for program communications and recruitment.
