Make-A-Day Foundation-Volunteer Coordinator

Make-A-Day (MAD) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides outreach to central Ohio’s chronically homeless, as well as the economically disadvantaged and socially marginalized. Originally founded as a way to build appreciative, humanizing relationships with the local unsheltered population through radical hospitality, which included free haircuts, gourmet meals, and gifts of clothing and hygienic supplies, MAD’s outreach and advocacy efforts began in 2017. In the years since its inception, Make-A-Day has grown significantly in both size and scope; Mobile Outreach, MAD’s signature program, includes weekly street outreach services to people experiencing homelessness, as well as bloc-party-styled “pop-up” events and housing resource clinics, that serve the unhoused and impoverished. With its intentional mobility and relationship-centered approach, this program creates an equalizing space for marginalized people to reconnect to their community.
