'21 VIP Family Self Sufficiency VISTA- SHA
 
 
 
The VIP program offers a unique approach to AmeriCorps VISTA service, as you will spend 10% of your time each week working collaboratively with 19 other AmeriCorps VISTA members placed in the community to research and implement community-wide solutions focusing on either increasing access to behavioral healthcare or increasing financial stability. Benefits include access to food co-op, doubled food stamps at the farmer's market, housing referral, household & personal care supplies provided through the Gifts in Kind Center, ongoing professional development, reimbursement for service-related travel, discounted gym membership, & professional mentoring.

Member Duties : This position is part of the AmeriCorps VISTAs in the Piedmont (VIP) program sponsored by United Way of the Piedmont. As an AmeriCorps VISTA at Spartanburg Housing Authority, you will develop an Annual Calendar of programs and/workshops of community agencies that will education families on financial stability, educational, resume building, workforce search, and resiliency in being a part of the Family Self-Sufficiency program. Track data of program attendees in the Family Self-Sufficiency program. The VISTA will work with the Family Self Sufficiency Coordinator to build recruitment within Spartanburg Housing Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Families. The AmeriCorps VISTA will also research new funding opportunities (private and public).
