The AmeriCorps member serving at the Attleboro YMCA in partnership with Wheaton College will have a long-term impact on the Attleboro community by addressing food insecurity. The AmeriCorps member will strengthen support for low-income individuals and families in Attleboro, MA through the creation of systems to ease the stress of families being impacted by the hard hitting impact of COVID-19 on food security. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $641.20 in Bristol county. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide housing (on or off campus), a meal plan on campus, fitness center passes, and access to professional development & training opportunities. The AmeriCorps member serving at the Attleboro YMCA in partnership with Wheaton College will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and to share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year.
