"The AmeriCorps member serving at the University of Massachusetts Boston Office in the Urban and Off Campus Resources (U-ACCESS) will be responsible for data collection and assessment, sustaining current and building new relationships with on and off campus partners, enhancing current standard procedures for the Emergency Housing Program, increasing the availability and quality of services available, and building the overall capacity of the program. The AmeriCorps member will be entering the program at a unique and exciting time where there will be a plethora of room for growth and new ideas, support from a variety of stakeholders, and a serious need for the responsibilities of the member. As the only emergency housing program in the higher education community in all of Massachusetts, the member will not only be able to help build the program, but also network and connect with individuals across the nation who have a vital stake in alleviating homelessness and housing insecurity among college students. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $1,027.88 in Suffolk county. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide professional development (conferences), access to professional development & training opportunities. The AmeriCorps member serving at the University of Massachusetts Boston will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and to share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : The Campus Compact AmeriCorps member serving at the University of Massachusetts, Boston in the Office of Urban and Off-Campus Support Services (U-ACCESS) will build capacity by providing high-quality emergency housing services and corresponding, personalized interventions to eligible housing insecure or homeless students. The AmeriCorps member serving with U-ACCESS will research, build relationships and identify resources to create a guide for the Office of Urban and Off-Campus Support Services to provide students impacted by homelessness immediate support in a time of crisis.
