‘21 VIP - Volunteer and Communications VISTA - SLFMC
 
 
 
This position is part of the VISTAs in the Piedmont (VIP) program sponsored by United Way of the Piedmont. As an AmeriCorps VISTA member at St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic will improve current volunteer recruitment and retention efforts through marketing and communications, developing and distributing surveys, analyzing results, and implementing volunteer appreciation procedures. You will also implement effective volunteer program procedures by planning and scheduling, assessing and updating volunteer training materials, and carrying out volunteer orientation. Additionally, the member will create tracking and reporting systems to evaluate volunteer data effectively and evaluate and enhance organizational communications systems. You will also expand specialty programs to create a greater impact for individual program participants and the community at large through grant writing, data collection, and creative marketing to engage the community. The VIP program offers a unique approach to VISTA service, as you will spend 10% of your time each week working collaboratively with 19 other VISTA members placed in the community to research and implement community-wide solutions focusing on either increasing access to behavioral healthcare or increasing financial stability. Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA will help increase St. Luke’s capacity to provide quality healthcare to underserved Spartanburg County residents by streamlining our volunteer, communication, and specialty program procedures. The member will work to improve the Clinic’s volunteer program, specialty programs, including our Power of Healthy Living program, and communication systems according to new trends in technology and nonprofit best practices. These efforts will help ensure future staff can carry out our services more efficiently, allowing the Clinic to change more lives through access to healthcare.
