This AmeriCorps member serving at Massasoit Community College will be an integral in addressing and remedying the food insecurities that the Massasoit community faces. Through revolutionized programming around our campus food pantry, as well as connecting to local and federal resources such as SNAP benefits. The AmeriCorps member will achieve a greater understanding of the community college system in Massachusetts. The member will also provide insight into holistic approaches to whole student support throughout various programming efforts. The AmeriCorps member will develop a deep knowledge of data tracking and communications through the weekly responsibilities associated with the on-campus pantry. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $1,027.88 in Plymouth county. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide access to professional development & training opportunities. The AmeriCorps member serving at Massasoit Community College will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and to share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year.
