Vet Corps
 
 
 
The Washington Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) will tap the knowledge, skills and abilities of veterans and their families by engaging them in AmeriCorps national service positions which will enable them to make a positive difference in their community, and improve the quality of life as a civilian for their fellow veterans and themselves. The Vet Corps will assist veterans in all stages of transition, ensuring increased access to state, federal, local services.

Member Duties : Serving as peer mentors, Vet Corps members will serve student veterans on campus and, community at sites in one of 5 geographic regions. Vet Corps members will be successful if they are familiar with the services available to veterans in their region.
 
Program Benefits : Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend ,  Training ,  Stipend ,  Health Coverage ,  Childcare assistance if eligible ,  Education award upon successful completion of service .
