It is the mission of The Brattleboro Housing Partnerships to ensure the provision of quality affordable housing opportunities in viable communities for lower income households. Member Duties : The VISTA member will help to improve the lives of low-income families by offering new approaches to obtaining & using fresh food. They will coordinate directly with families to build neighborhood relations & create a sense of community that will sustain the program. The VISTA will gather in-kind donations and recruit, encourage & collaborate with families to create community gardens. They will connect with current community programs to provide culinary skills & nutrition education programming, and they will partner with families in the process. They will outline & document the program to ensure continued growth. The VISTA will empower families to build their self-esteem. We believe strongly in community & in supporting the well-being of each neighborhood. By connecting families to healthier food choices at a lower cost, this service will help to improve overall health of low-income residents. This position is an opportunity to create a lasting impact in the lives of adults & children.
