"The AmeriCorps member serving at Northern Essex Community College will focus on building the capacity and sustainability of NECC’s food insecurity program. The member will manage the current food insecurity initiatives, which includes marketing, data collection, operations oversight, donation and volunteer management, and reporting. The member will assess the program’s effectiveness, including administering satisfaction surveys and compiling reports as needed. The member will support the implementation of the program’s sustainability plan, including researching and seeking financial and in-kind support, presenting program data, and formalizing systems. The member will attend college, community, and statewide meetings communicating and collaborating on food insecurity issues and initiatives. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $1,027.88 in Essex county. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide fitness center passes, professional development opportunities in the form of conferences, access to professional development & training opportunities, and access to the campus shuttle. The AmeriCorps member serving at Northern Essex Community College will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and to share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year.
