Summer Associate VISTA - F.A.R.M. Cafe
 
 
 
F.A.R.M. Cafe meals are served Tuesday through Friday from 11-2pm. Individuals unable to make a monetary donation can utilize pre-paid meal tokens for a complimentary lunch. As Covid-restrictions ease, able-bodied individuals will once again be encouraged to donate up to one hour of their time in exchange for a meal. F.A.R.M. Full Circle, a food recovery and redistribution program, operates from the F.A.R.M. Cafe kitchen. Staff and volunteers collect imperfect fruits and vegetables (which would otherwise be landfilled) from local food retailers. Using those donations, soups, casseroles, and other ready-to-eat products are created and distributed weekly to food outreach organizations. Both F.A.R.M. Cafe and F.A.R.M. Full Circle offer products on a donate-what-you-can basis at the High Country Food Hub. Proceeds from these products directly support efforts to distribute the same meals to food insecure individuals at no charge.

Member Duties : AmeriCorps VISTAs will assist with day-to-day operations including food preparation, service, and distribution. In addition, VISTAs will represent F.A.R.M. Cafe at off-site events including farmers markets, pop-ups, and outreach/educational workshops. This includes support for outreach to summer feeding programs and area food pantries.
