Since 1992, Housing Forward has been a safety net for those that are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We are committed to providing inventive crisis resolutions while working with likely and unconventional stakeholders to find innovative, structural solutions. There are several process improvements that Housing Forward is undertaking in 2021, both internally and as the lead agency of the Oak Park Homelessness Coalition. The VISTA member will be critical in building Housing Forward’s capacity to lead effectively and efficiently through improved processes. With the goal to engage the local and regional stakeholders in the mission to end homelessness, the VISTA will act as a bridge with community stakeholders. This position is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, which is an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Qualifications: • At least 21 years of age or older. • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Sociology or Communication preferred. • Knowledge of issues related to homelessness and poverty. • Strong computer skills. • Strong oral and written communication skills - ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment is a plus. • Must be a team player and detail oriented. • Ability to work under pressure and with a wide variety of people.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will build capacity for Housing Forward’s leadership team comprising program managers and the executive team. There are several process improvement goals that Housing Forward is undertaking in 2021 including: • Implementation of Salesforce volunteer management module and leasing management; • Implementing SharePoint, a document management and storage system, across the agency; and • Improving timely data entry The Member will help build agency capacity to support these goals and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Additionally, The VISTA will work with the core committee of the Oak Park Homelessness Coalition (OPHC) to manage and coordinate the efforts of the 4 work groups. Through the Member’s work, the OPHC will meet 48 times per year, working towards their specific goals and advancing their mission of eliminating
