The AmeriCorps member serving at Bryant University will collaborate with build capacity through the development of partnerships and stakeholders on and off campus to support student leadership and community partnerships. The AmeriCorps member will connect student leaders with the long-term vision of community engagement at Bryant University while supporting increased capacity of community partners directly impacting the lives of low-income families. Their work will incorporate a priority anti-poverty focus on the areas of education and economic opportunity. Ultimately, the AmeriCorps member will develop the capacity of the organizations they work with (including Bryant) as they create sustainable solutions that empower communities. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $575.40 in Providence county. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide fitness center passes, access to professional development & training opportunities, in addition to public transportation passes. The AmeriCorps member serving at Bryant University will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and to share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : The Campus Compact AmeriCorps member serving at Bryant University will build capacity by facilitating systems, process, and interventions to ensure that the roles and objectives outlined in these partnership and positions will directly address new and pre-existing efforts that these community organizations are utilizing to address issues of poverty within the low-income communities that they serve. In addition, the AmeriCorps member will develop resources and systems, which will allow for long term oversight and management of the program long after the project concludes.
