Hands Across the World - Digital Equity (LitMN)

Thriving in America means being able to navigate the digital age. Join us and be a part of creating something that will move the needle in a big way! Working with Hands Across the World (HAW), you’ll be the thought leader and project manager for the launch of our hybrid learning model. This trend that’s transforming our post-COVID19 life presents significant and unique realities for immigrants and refugees in our program. Students and families at HAW have come to call Central Minnesota their home by choice and chance. HAW welcomes and supports them through their journey as they make America their home. In joining our work, you’ll be doing more than just rolling out online English and Citizenship classes. You’ll be bridging the digital divide and empowering the next generation of American innovators who will shape the future. You’ll build something from the ground up and work with people from all over the world. You don’t have to be an IT guru or a curriculum design expert, but you have to be driven by the desire to serve and have the motivation to partner when it comes to understanding the needs of our students and importance of strategic collaboration. What you build with us during your service will be the beginning of a vision that will uplift and empower immigrants and refugees who can fully participate in American life. *Additional benefits: Professional development/training, network/collaborate with local, national & international stakeholders. *Position is part of the Literacy Leadership program of Literacy Minnesota (LitMN), which places AmeriCorps VISTA members with nonprofits, public agencies & Tribal Nations located in MN & WI to build their capacity to improve literacy for children, adults or families. Literacy Minnesota fosters an organizational culture that is welcoming & inclusive to all. Applications reviewed on rolling basis until filled for 8/30/21 start.
