Great River Regional Library - Youth Literacy (LitMN)

Reading builds success, and we love to help kids and families achieve their dreams. Great River Regional Library (GRRL) is a large public library system in Central Minnesota. We have 32 branches, and our communities are amazing. People here have so much potential and also a number of challenges. Many communities have high poverty rates and a lack of broadband or other services. We have rural districts, urban zones and college towns. Our service area is becoming more diverse, with growing refugee and immigrant communities. We are committed to our communities and providing child and youth programs based on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. We have a large and diverse team of staff working in our libraries as well. Some have been leading storytimes for years, and some haven’t done it once. Our Literacy Leadership VISTA will increase our ability to train staff at all 32 locations, no matter their experience, to develop and present great programs. We want to ensure that we are always growing with our communities as well. Our VISTA will create tools to evaluate our programs so we can continue to do meet individual, family and community needs. Join us and you will gain skills in research, networking, program development and evaluation. You’ll learn about public libraries and our commitment to our patrons in all their diversity. You will help us now and in the future to better serve children of color, immigrant families and English language learners. Our ideal candidate is committed to public service, works well with teams, is comfortable with technology, and has solid organizational skills. We hope you’ll also bring a sense of humor and fun. *Additional benefits: Bus pass, professional development, flexible schedule.
