MTCC Summer Associate - Families First Learning Lab

The Families First Learning Lab Families strives to provide education, care and support to the whole family. We recognize how critical early childhood education is to ensure healthy kids, and our organization focuses on providing the tools to parents, caregivers, community organizations, and children. Early education is a cornerstone in a human’s life, especially for those in areas lacking resources and tools. We have identified areas of need through community organizations like Zero to Five, the Missoula Food Bank, Missoula County Public Schools, Lowell Elementary School, and other early education programs. Our goal is to provide free and accessible early learning activities to all in our community, especially those with the greatest need.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate will work alongside the Families First Learning Lab Child Enrichment Director to provide early education to children in Missoula Public Library. The member will develop learning activities and reate early learning kits to be distributed to families in Western Montana. The member will interact with families and engage them with exhibits at the Missoula Public Library The member will communicate with our partners to find ways to collaborate and to gather resources that can be shared with participants. The Summer Associate will work to keep our events calendar up-to-date and share about our organization on social media.
