MTCC Summer Associate - Human Resource Development Council
 
 
 
The Human Resource Development Council District IX is a non-profit Community Action Agency. They provide programs and services in the areas of housing, food and nutrition, child and youth development, senior empowerment, transportation, energy assistance, and community development. Relatedly, the Gallatin Valley Food Bank’s (GVFB) mission is to improve food security throughout Southwest Montana. The HRDC Summer Lunch program addresses poverty by providing kids with healthy meals outside of school, the Kids Summer Lunch program helps to prevent hunger’s cascading effects on children such as anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and falling behind in school. Our programs also give a sense of security to the families of students participating; no matter what happens, they will always have a source of food.

Member Duties : The VISTA Summer Associates will play an integral role in preparing and providing support to meal sites throughout Gallatin County. They will interact and communicate with parents, children, staff and other professionals about the program; support volunteers assisting with food service and meal preparations; complete and maintain current Summer Food Service Program records; participate in program evaluation; deliver meals to designated sites; supervise and serve meals and record daily participation; and enhance the program quality.
