The AmeriCorps member serving at National Louis University - THRIVE will curate and leverage community resources in key domains such as food and housing insecurities, financial literacy, employment, childcare/support for parenting students, coordinate speakers and best programming practices for a new community health engagement initiative, increase scale of donation drives to meet the needs of our low-income students, launch an online clearinghouse of community resources, best practices and guidance for addressing and supporting student basic needs and develop database for tracking donations, services utilized, and student engagement with services and resources. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $542.22 in Cook County. In addition to the benefits listed, the host site will provide access to free or reduced courses, public transportation pass, access to professional development & training opportunities. The AmeriCorps member serving at National Louis University - THRIVE will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps with Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA. Serving as a member of a corps provides the chance to connect with other members throughout multiple states, create a network of support, and to share resources. As the intermediary, Campus Compact, a national non-profit, supports the professional and personal growth of AmeriCorps members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings including overnight retreats throughout their service year. Member Duties : The Campus Compact AmeriCorps member serving at National Louis University will assist in collecting and curating community resources and assist in building essential community partnerships that will maintain the foundation of the THRIVE Resource Center. Additionally, the THRIVE Resource Center will grow and expand opportunities to respond to the needs of the whole student. Looking to Fall 2021, the resources need to be available online and in person, expanding reach and access to resources across the student population.
