Are you passionate about fighting blight, neighborhood revitalization, and community engagement? Flint Urban Safety & Health Corps AmeriCorps members provide programming related to food security and nutrition, behavioral and developmental health, early education, crime and blight prevention, and community building, and medical management through local nonprofit organizations as strategies toward long-term recovery from the water crisis. Members are responsible for planning and executing a number of both small and large-scale events that support and further the Program’s mission; these events will be designed in conjunction with the host site, the member, and the Program Manager. Members will present on all program areas covered under the Flint Urban Safety and Health Corps (FUSHC) umbrella. FUSHC members will also be required to attend all accelerator meeting and monthly program specific trainings. The Family Advocate will serve collaboratively with the FGLN staff, and partner organizations/initiatives (Choice Neighborhood Initiative, Flint Kids Read, Great Start Collaborative, Lenore Croudy Family Life Center, etc.) to support the connection of families in to needed education and mental, physical, and behavioral health services.
