Please Pass the Love Youth Programming Coordinator

The VISTA will help us develop and expand our youth programs to build more capacity, specifically to increase the number our Stomp Out Stigma school mental health clubs across the state. This will directly impact teens across Iowa and their school systems as our programs focus on improving individual mental health as well as climate transformation. They will help in building partnerships with schools and community agencies in order to reach more students. The VISTA will also help serve thousands of young people across the state of Iowa by planning, organizing, and promoting various youth events. Our events are free in order to serve students from low income households. We firmly believe no child should go without participating in events simply because they can't afford it. The VISTA will help secure donations, grants, and sponsorships in order to help fund our events by creating partnerships with local businesses and organizations that align with our mission to bring more mental health supports to students across the state.

Member Duties : This is an exciting role in which the VISTA will have flexibility to help us think outside of the box in how we can better our programming. They will meet with teens and schools across the state in order to get them involved in what we do. There will be a lot of room for creative thinking. We are looking for a VISTA who is personable and not afraid to reach out to schools and organizations in order to build our programming. The VISTA will not only help get SOS groups started at middle schools and high schools, but they will also help with presentations. We present to thousands of students each year on self-care, mental health, and youth voice. We anticipate this position will help lead and promote those workshops at times. They will also help with planning our various youth events: mental health conference, summer leadership course, and youth leadership summit.
