Tulane Center for Public Service -- VISTA Leader

VISTA Leader provides peer support for the VISTA members and works with CPS staff to coordinate programming and professional development for VISTA team members. VISTA members serve as liaisons between Tulane and the partner agencies, helping to create job descriptions, prepare training sessions and orientations, organize public service students in activities designed to reduce poverty, enhance civic engagement, and encourage economic sustainability. The infrastructure and capacity created by Tulane's VISTA program allows organizations and communities to utilize the services provided by public service students and the university more effectively and creatively. The VISTA Leader meets individually with each VISTA member on a monthly basis to support their work and professional development during service as well as keep the CPS staff informed of VISTA member activities. The VISTA Leader also assists the CPS team in scheduling and developing weekly professional activities. There is additional space for each VISTA Leader to work on internal program development for the team depending on their own personal talents and interests.

Member Duties : The VISTA Leader will work directly with the Sr. Program Coordinator and the VISTA Admin team to support the VISTA program. -VISTA Leader will meet 1 on 1 with each VISTA member monthly -Assist with planning and facilitation of weekly VISTA Meetings -Assist in the recruitment of new VISTA members -Support marketing and communication efforts of the Tulane VISTA program
