Sicangu Co Graphic Design and Social Media Specialist
 
 
 
As the economic engine of the Sicangu Lakota nation, Sicangu Co’s purpose is to improve the financial and social well-being of our tribal relatives. We are guided and inspired by the 7Gen Vision, which imagines the type of world we’d like to see our descendants living in 175 years from now. Grounded in our ancestral and cultural wisdom, with a deep understanding of the profound challenges faced by our people, Sicangu Co is working towards Wicozani, or “the good way of life” for the Sicangu Oyate – holistic health, economic self-sufficiency, cultural revitalization, sustainable housing, food sovereignty, climate resilience, and shared, lasting prosperity. Sicangu Co draws strength from the words uttered by many relatives who have gone before us: “Nake Nula Wau” – I am always prepared, anytime, anywhere, for anything.

Member Duties : The goal of this project is to continue the momentum of the Sicangu Co “re-branding” through consistent and appealing visual representation. The VISTA member will utilize graphic design to share the story and impact of Sicangu Co, with the goal of increasing our reach both locally and nationally. This role will expand our organizational capacity through the development, implementation, and revision of effective processes related to content creation and sharing on social media and through physical media (e.g. posters). This project will raise the profile of our organizations locally, regionally, and nationally which will give us access to funding opportunities to ensure the sustainability of our programming. Sicangu Co’s ecosystem approach includes tribal enterprise, grassroots community development, and asset building working in conjunction to create prosperity for the Sicangu Lakota Oyate.
