REDCO Press and Media Relations
The Press and Media Relations Coordinator is a year-long position with the Rosebud Economic Development Corporation (REDCO). REDCO is the economic development arm of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, which is located in southcentral South Dakota. REDCO is part of an ecosystem of organizations working to create systemic change for the Sicangu Lakota Oyate -- or citizens of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. The Press and Media Relations Coordinator will support and provide capacity for each of the three organizations. - REDCO focuses on job creation, leadership development, and economic opportunity. REDCO operates over a dozen businesses, including the historic and nationally-recognized Wolakota Buffalo Range. - Sicangu Community Development Corporation focuses on grassroots community development through initiatives in education, food sovereignty, health, and housing. They were named one of the top 10 food system visionaries in the world through a competitive process that included thousands of submissions. - Tatanka Funds is an emerging Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that empowers people through personal finance, business entrepreneurship, and homeownership. Together the organizations provide a holistic approach to economic and community development under a shared vision, mission, and leadership team. The work is all done under the Indigenous framework of 7Gen, meaning that decisions are made in the best interest of the next Seven Generations. 7Gen ensures that solutions are sustainable and regenerative while remaining true to Lakota values.
