Public & School Partnership - VISTA Summer Associates

Each summer, the Public & School Partnership at Utah State University selects qualified applicants to serve as AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associates in local schools and community organizations in the Cache Valley area. The Summer Associate program is a 10-week summer term that starts June 1, 2021 and ends August 10, 2021. PSP's Summer Associates work during local hours of operation to help coordinate summer learning, meal access, and/or substance abuse prevention efforts at local schools and community organizations. Summer Associates will also work to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on education, access, and the summer sites as a whole. Generally, Summer Associates will work with youth, families, volunteers, and site staff. Specific activities vary across the available sites, and a very brief overview of each site’s activities is included below. Summer Associates work 40 hours/week for the full 10-week term, receive a living stipend, mileage reimbursement, and can choose between an end-of-service education or cash award. Federal-and state-observed holidays in July are approved days off, and Summer Associates are granted 3 additional days of leave during the 10-week service. **REQUIRED - IN YOUR MOTIVATION STATEMENT INCLUDE YOUR TWO (2) PREFERRED SITES where you would like to be considered for an interview. List of 2021 Summer Associate sites: CACHE HUMANE SOCIETY (interactive summer learning camps) CACHE MAKERS (STEM learning camps) CACHE REFUGEE & IMMIGRANT CONNECTION (community garden coordination and community outreach) CHILDREN'S JUSTICE CENTER (youth programs, parent education, and outreach) COMMON GROUND (youth leadership camps) LCSD SUMMER PROGRAM (English-learning camp) THE FAMILY PLACE UTAH (summer learning camps and community/volunteer outreach) LOGAN FAMILY CENTER (summer learning camps) DAVIS COUNTY 4-H (youth summer STEM workshops.
