2021 Construction Volunteer Liaison Summer Associate

DuPage Habitat for Humanity strives to bring communities together to build community, hope, and homes. According to Impact DuPage, 43.9% of families in DuPage County spend more than 30% of their income on renting a place to live. In addition to our vision here at Habitat, where everyone deserves a decent place to live, we are focusing heavily on the volunteer experience. This position is the initial point of contact between the volunteers and the Staff at DuPage Habitat. Includes checking volunteers in and welcoming them to the site as well as giving them a brief rundown on who we are and what we do. Once the initial phase is complete, the Summer Associate will then transition into controlling tool disbursement and taking a leading role in safety monitoring of the site. End of day duties include prep for following day as well and talking to staff to identify potential candidates for future training in support of our mission. This position is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps positions. Learn more about the program on Housing Action’s website.
