San Jose State - Campus Engagement and Outreach Coordinator

Peer Connections is the campus wide learning assistance program at San José State University (SJSU). There are 6 different peer educator roles and over 100 peer educators that support students in their personal and academic development while building a sense of connection to the SJSU community. This role is part of the CSU STEM VISTA program. As a member of this cohort, you will take part in a learning community of VISTAs across the California State University system. Our one-year program is designed to promote your growth professionally and personally as you create and enhance programs for STEM students. All projects within CSU STEM VISTA are focused on eliminating race, class, and gender disparities in STEM undergraduate graduation rates. You will be trained to utilize sustainable, asset-based approaches that engage students of color, students from low-income communities, and students who are first in their family to attend college.

Member Duties : As the Campus Engagement and Outreach Coordinator, you will develop, implement, and assess an outreach plan for Peer Connections. In addition to outreach, you will be working closely with the Learning Assistant Coordinator to enhance the Learning Assistant Program and to find funding that will allow the program to become a viable sustainable form of peer education at San José State University.
