Opportunity Council - MFN Funding & Volunteer Programs VISTA

Miracle Food Network (MFN) uses food as an attraction and intersect where people can connect to resources and opportunities to improve their lives and break the bonds of poverty and inequality. MFN is not a food bank, food pantry, or emergency food handout organization, but rather an accelerator of economic and social mobility for disadvantaged people. MFN has close working relationships with Public Schools, educators, and other community nonprofits targeting the "working poor" families identified principally by their eligibility for Free & Reduced Lunch (FRL). These FRL families are too often left our of consideration for social service benefits, as their income levels place them outside of the qualification zone set by policy makers. MFN intercepts and redirects food surplus and waste while also addressing food insecurity.
