| Member Duties : The Community Organizing AmeriCorps VISTA will support the Neighboring Movement in its mission of community transformation through the practice of neighboring. The Neighboring Movement focuses on the South Central Neighborhood of Wichita, KS. Residents in this area have lower levels of income, education, and civic engagement. The Community Organizing VISTA will help address these concerns through Asset Based Community Development. In this role, the VISTA will assist in coordinating the neighborhood Listening Team activities, recruiting block leaders, and assisting in resourcing and logistics to host block parties with block leaders.
