Community Action Center, Northfield, IA & MN Campus Compact

At the Community Action Center (CAC) of Northfield, we are “neighbors helping neighbors.” Our programs – from Creating Homes to Feeding the Hungry – meet the most basic needs of individuals and families who are seeking help. As a nonprofit organization serving the life-sustaining needs of those in our area, many people rely on the CAC for support as they seek independence. Our mission is to promote a healthy, caring and just community for all people through resources, advocacy and volunteer effort. This Vista position will work in our Food Access Program to increase food access by creating, operating, and working to sustain a second food shelf in our community through volunteer recruitment, community outreach, and donor support. This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing full-time capacity building support in nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Interviews will occur on a rolling basis. Preference given to candidates who apply early.***
