Grinnell Education Partnership, IA&MN Campus Compact

The Grinnell Education Partnership brings together community non-profits, area employers, the Grinnell-Newburg School District, and community volunteers to support PK-12 children and families in Grinnell, Iowa. By working together in new ways, the Partnership aims to give students a strong start so they can succeed in school in the early years; and help students with a strong finish so they are prepared to do well after graduation. The Grinnell Education Partnership is dedicated to increasing community-wide collaboration so all local organizations can work better together in support of children and families. This project’s goal is to create sustainable systems so community organizations can work more effectively together with focus on the needs of low-income PK-12 students and families. The Partnership seeks to close the achievement gap by increasing opportunities for ALL kids and families. Specifically, our aim is to increase enrichment activities throughout the community, as well as increase collaboration among community partner agencies. The Partnership has been in existence for six years and is now focused on continuing to support community-based education initiatives while adapting to the changing landscape brought about by COVID. This project is part of the Community Corps VISTA Program, operated by Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact. The program strives to eliminate poverty through campus-community partnerships by placing full-time capacity building support in nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions. ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Interviews will occur on a rolling basis. Preference given to candidates who apply early.***
