Summer- United We March Forward Empowerment VISTA
 
 
 
UWMF and Mission of Hope summer projects entails working closely with the vulnerable population such as the immigrant and homeless population. Imagine not having a place to sleep or a hot meal. There are families facing barriers to resources and opportunities. This is a 10-week project. This qualified individual will help serve food, navigate resources and participate in summer programs such as garden plots and ESL tutoring. A summer VISTA volunteer is the perfect person to empower these families and individuals.

Member Duties : VISTA member will educate, encourage and empower. Member will be involved with two populations. As food insecurity and economic decline progress, member will work closely with the vulnerable population by preparing and serving hot meals and arranging clothes at our closing closet. Second, member will help ESL students learn basic vocabulary and participate in community gardens and other summer projects. All of the activities are basic and do not need any special training. Along with other skills and talent that member has, he or she will help empower families and individuals we serve.
