2021 Fundraising Summer Associate

Architreasures is an arts-based community development organization that creates grassroots partnerships to improve Chicago neighborhoods through the arts and cultural placemaking. Architreasures works with affordable housing sites and community groups to develop public art and space improvement projects, and offer on-site arts and cultural programming for neighborhood residents. The Fundraising Associate will provide support to Architreasures’ Executive Director and Associate Board with the coordination, promotion, and close out of our annual Jewels fundraising event. Architreasures seeks a dynamic Fundraising Associate who is interested in and / or experienced with planning and implementation of successful special event benefits, both in-person or virtually. The ideal candidate is a go-getter, highly-organized, and detail-minded; he/ she also works well independently and as a member of the benefit event committee. The Fundraising Associate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be adept with MS Office and social media (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Ideally, the candidate will also have experience working with CRM systems or other database management tools; using Photoshop and Squarespace; and digital tools for live virtual events (i.e., Zoom, Facebook, YouTube). This position is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps positions. Member Duties : Increase revenue generated through the Jewels fundraiser in 2021 by 10% compared to previous year. Solicit 50-75 silent auction items. Identify 5-10 new prospects for in-kind donations and silent auction items. Organize silent auction packages and develop descriptions to feature on Auctria platform. Provide support with event logistics and technology prior to and day of event, including coordination of deliveries, volunteers, media, and program presentations. Complete acknowledgement and thank you letters for benefit supporters. Update donor information in CRM as needed. Promote benefit through social media and other communications channels prior to and after the event. Craft weekly posts on Facebook, Twitter, and for email promotion. Share event information with local media calendars, professional associations, and affiliated organizations and companies. Engage past event attendees and supporters through direct phone, email, and direct mail invitations.
