CNHED Community Engagement Advisor VISTA
DC Credit Union is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) with a mission of financial inclusion. We provide access to affordable banking savings and credit products coupled with financial coaching and development services to underserved households and families to build more resilient families and stronger communities. Our program falls under Community Outreach and Engagement for the purpose of increasing financial well-being; specifically, the program will grow awareness and impact around two development programs: youth banking and free tax preparation services. Youth banking and free tax preparation services are two of the development services used by the credit union to operationalize our mission of financial inclusion.

Member Duties : The VISTA Volunteer will assist the Credit Union advance two development services offered by the credit union: youth banking and free tax preparation services. The tasks required of the VISTA on youth banking is engaging with participants of DC’s Summer Youth Employment Program. The tasks required of the VISTA on advancing our free tax preparation services (the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance “VITA” program) by engaging with community based organizations to reach more tax payers, creating pathways to recruit program volunteers, and support the overall program impact.
