CCMA Friendship PCS Alumni Affairs

Friendship Public Charter School operates a thriving network of college preparatory public charter schools. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Friendship serves over 4,000 students in preschool to grade 12 and guides a growing network of alumni to college completion annually. 80% of students come from low-income households. 98% are African American or Latino. The mission of Friendship Public Charter School is to prepare students to become ethical, literate, well-rounded and self-sufficient citizens by providing a world-class education that motivates students to reach high academic standards, to enjoy learning, to achieve success, and to contribute actively to their communities. The Alumni Affairs CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA serves as a member of the Friendship PCS Office of Alumni Affairs and will assist the Alumni Support Manager in developing and coordinating programs, projects, and events to engage Friendship alumni across the college and career spectrum. Based in Washington, DC, the VISTA requires a positive, collaborative, and innovative demeanor with a strong commitment to the organization’s mission. The Friendship Alumni Affairs VISTA will provide support and coordination for three key objectives: 1) the design and launch of the Alumni Board and Alumni Association; 2) the development and implementation of the Alumni engagement strategy; and 3) the growth and development of our full year Alumni programming calendar. Activities to ensure success around these initiatives include (but are not limited to): research and evaluation of prior programs; the development and coordination of programs; social media content creation and use; alumni engagement through calls, texts, emails, and social media platforms; continual updating of the alumni database; event planning and coordination; and collaboration with Alumni Affairs staff, school based staff, and community partners.
