CCMA NDMU's York Road Education and Service (YES) Program
Supported by personnel at the partner schools, community organizations and non-profits, family, and Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) faculty and staff, the York Road Education and Service (YES) Program strives to improve academic outcomes and the holistic health of students from Govans Elementary and Tunbridge Public Charter Schools. The CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA member will serve as a key member of a YES Program implementation team, charged with maintaining and expanding existing academic tutoring and mentoring programs and exploring and researching health and wellness needs and opportunities for future implementation in partner schools, with special focus on student and family health concerns identified by project partners. The CCMA VISTA will work to maintain and increase connections between partner schools, community organizations and non-profits, families, partner colleges and universities, and the host-institution, NDMU.

Member Duties : The CCMA AmeriCorps VISTA member will: Maintain and expand relationships between Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU), partner schools, community members, service organizations/programs in Baltimore City/York Road, and other Baltimore institutions; Maintain and expand existing academic support through tutoring initiatives and student mentoring programming in partner schools; Plan and implement health-based programming with school partners and NDMU personnel; and Investigate and recommend a programming sustainability plan to ensure the long-term success of the YES Program and its partners
