2021 Community Engagement Summer Associate
 
 
 
Housing Choice Partners (HCP) seeks a motivated candidate, that is proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Drive, able to perform basic data analysis, strong writing skills, and committed to racial justice and fair housing. HCP’s mission is to help break the cycle of intergenerational poverty through the promotion of racial and economic diversity in housing. Countless families in our region face barriers to safe, affordable housing near resources that can help break the cycle of poverty, such as well-performing schools. HCP’s housing counseling and advocacy programs work with low-income families to know their full range of housing choices, identify and overcome barriers to living in historically off-limit areas, and address systemic inequities to ensure that all families have access to the same range of opportunities. The Community Engagement Associate VISTA will increase HCP’s capacity by working with senior level management to create streamlined program data collection and analysis strategies and develop mechanisms by which clients and program partners can provide meaningful input and feedback on HCP’s programs. Housing Choice Partners is located in Chicago, IL, and provides services throughout Cook County, Illinois, in addition to providing consulting on housing equity programming nationwide. This position is a part of the Housing Action AmeriCorps Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive customized training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps positions. Member Duties : Help HCP to assess impact and effectiveness across programming, grow public awareness of our services, and lay the groundwork to expand future funding opportunities in order to serve more families. Work with HCP leadership to develop a strategy that can be used annually to conduct a thoughtful, complete, and efficient analysis of our impact on the communities we serve. Develop information and data collection tools that will be used to aggregate and analyze input.
