Feeding Wisconsin Network Engagement VISTA

Feeding Wisconsin is the statewide association of the six Feeding America food banks that work to end hunger with 1,000 local food programs throughout the state. Our vision is a hunger-free Wisconsin and our mission is to help our food banks and partners fight hunger, improve health and strengthen local communities so that everybody in Wisconsin has access to the food and benefits they need to work, learn, play and live healthy lives. We assist our food banks to raise statewide food and funds, increase awareness about hunger in Wisconsin, strengthen public and private solutions to hunger and food insecurity, and catalyze statewide public-private partnerships. Feeding Wisconsin is based in Madison, WI, ranked in the top 25 for the most bike-friendly cities in the USA. Madison is a wonderful place to live and work with great restaurants, wonderful outdoor recreation, and friendly people. The AmeriCorps*VISTA members will improve our statewide strategies in engaging our network and communicating our work to external partners all in an effort to drive impact that addresses short and long term food security. The VISTA Member will build on a VISTA created communications plan, build capacity of organization and network communications, organize convenings of network and external partners, and create opportunities for participation of those with lived experiences of hunger. An ideal candidate will have strong communications and facilitation skills; have efficient time management and organization skills; and think innovatively and strategically to consider new opportunities for engaging our network and those we serve to lead to greater impact. This position will provide the VISTA member an opportunity to network with various stakeholder groups. The VISTA will also get much experience with technology and communications platforms.
