Community Outreach & Board Development Specialist
 
 
 
The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County is responsible for the planning, funding, and monitoring of public mental health and addiction treatment and recovery services delivered to the residents of Portage County. The Board contracts with provider agencies to deliver services that assist clients on the road to recovery. The Board also provides education, prevention, treatment, and recovery services (mental health and addiction) information throughout the County; works with other local, state, and federal organizations to increase awareness, education and advocate for policies that support mental health and addiction recovery. Our AmeriCorps VISTA member will be able to participate in multiple, no-cost, training opportunities throughout the service year.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member will: promote promising prevention, treatment, and recovery support approaches; create awareness materials about mental health and addiction; develop digital and social media content; assist with county-wide community coalitions; review Board policies and procedures; and research grant opportunities.
