Grants & Development VISTA

The goal of this project is to develop/expand a diversified funding stream for the Communities In Schools of Memphis (CIS of Memphis). Additional funding will be used to address CIS of Memphis’ mission to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. In Memphis and Shelby County, many children are living in poverty and face enormous challenges outside of the classroom. Without community support, they are more at risk for missing school, dropping out, and failing to earn a high school diploma. VISTA will be responsible for supporting the development of a customer database to ensure the software properly stores and tracks funding. This VISTA member will increase CIS of Memphis’ development team’s capacity to apply for and manage grants.
