East Cleveland Farmers Market- Engagement

The East Cleveland Farmers Market Preservation Society operates the Coit Road Farmers’ Market with a mission to provide access to affordable, locally grown farm fresh products to the residents of East Cleveland and surrounding neighborhoods. The Market is operated by volunteers, local farmers and entrepreneurs selling fresh, nutritious foods and home-produced goods. The Market supports food security by offering access to fresh locally produced food products for all income levels and by educating consumers on nutrition and cooking techniques. The major programs include: 1) Management of incentive programs for SNAP and coupon programs for other lower income customers. 2) Low vendor rents to encourage lower income urban farmers and other producers to sell at the Market. 3) Support of growing space at no cost to community gardeners, learning gardens, a food forest and urban farming on the Market site. 4) A beginning farmer training program.
