Community Resource Coordinator
 
 
 
The VISTA member will support newcomers including refugees, asylees and survivors of human trafficking living in the Norristown area or adjacent to engage with needed services and supports to lift themselves and their families out of poverty toward self-sufficiency. The VISTA will strengthen the network of area community partners, engage with partners to provide free workshops and engage with individual, group and corporate volunteers to provide needed support to the community.

Member Duties : Conduct neighborhood based research and neighborhood mapping to ensure we are supporting newcomers in the Greater Norristown area with access to ethnic communities, places of worship and ethnic food stores as well as quality schools and access to employment. Expand NSC's network of community partners with a focus on health services, mental health services, community based agencies, housing supports, education resources and financial literacy resources. Conduct outreach to other local organizations to explore partnerships in support of particularly vulnerable clients.
