This program will engage a multitude of constituencies and stakeholders to build a stronger Genesee Valley region. Digital Main Street will succeed by connecting SUNY Geneseo students, faculty, and staff; local youth and individuals from low income communities; small businesses and nonprofits, government agencies; and leaders in the region to improve outcomes, build resiliency, and enrich and enliven the community. Stakeholders will actively participate in every phase of the project including planning, program development, implementation, and evaluation. Partners will contribute to solutions that meet the needs of our community members in a holistic and responsive manner The VISTA will engage in this work will lay the framework of this project by building community involvement, communication, and assessments throughout the course of project growth. The VISTA will incorporate this long term planning into each phase of the project, taking into consideration: funding, human resources and staffing, key sponsors or supporters, government social service agencies, and College departments and initiatives. The VISTA will help Letchworth Gateway Villages (LGV) build capacity to meet the growing needs of businesses and nonprofits in their utilization of digital technologies. They will expand their portfolio of entities that they are able to support, better positioning LGV to understand the specific needs of these partners. The VISTA will create systems that will enable effective operationalization of the program, and will create structures to provide ongoing support. The VISTA will build capacity at the College through increased opportunities for students to engage with the community. The VISTA will act as a liaison between the LGV, the College, and community, engendering new relationships that will support economic growth in the region

Member Duties : The VISTA will focus on developing programming and infrastructure that seeks practical and sustainable solutions: -Conduct surveys: engage in research, analyze community assets and needs for the first year and moving forward. -Develop partnerships with education institutions, workforce development agencies, small business development centers, and technical assistance providers to expand program delivery. -Identify and engage stakeholders who will contribute or benefit from this project. Learn from the community how we can support utilization of digital technologies to position future success. -Expand the Digital Main Street program to help more small businesses and organizations stabilize, recover, and grow back stronger. -Create a model for small business and nonprofit digital transformation that could be replicated state /nationwide. -Build an onboarding and training platform for digital coaching pairs. -Create new pathways for employment in low income communities.
