PCCE- Drexel University (Lindy Anti Racism)

*Applicant will need to provide Covid-19 vaccine documentation* The Lindy Center for Civic Engagement works to facilitate opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to connect to efforts in West Philadelphia led by the Office of University and Community Partnerships (UCP) to address issues related to poverty. In Philadelphia, poverty is an issue significantly shaped by race and racial inequality, and university work must use a framework that considers the ways that racial justice intersects with economic opportunity. The VISTA placed at the Lindy Center will work to review, create, and implement accessible and effective pathways for students to work with UCP centers and programs in the development of projects that can apply their time, scholarship, networks, and other university resources to address issues related to racial justice and anti-poverty in West Philadelphia. The VISTA will also collaborate with additional AmeriCorps VISTAs placed at UCP centers and programs to ensure that their work considers issues of race to enhance work addressing poverty and vulnerability that is shaped and amplified by racial injustice This VISTA will help create/strengthen opportunities for Drexel students to develop projects with low-income neighborhoods to develop workforce knowledge and skills in technology that will meet the needs of employers.
