PCCE- Drexel University (Dornsife Arts)

*Applicant will need to provide Covid-19 vaccine documentation* The Y3 of this project will assist in the final stages of ensuring access to services and resources that contribute to improved educational outcomes for economically disadvantaged children, targeting communities with large concentrations of low-income students. These services/resources will focus on community arts and culture programming The arts and culture programming at the Dornsife Center is intended to enrich and improve the lives of the Mantua and Powelton communities by offering related opportunities. The primary benefit to the community is that the programming provides access to arts education for children and families in neighborhoods where the poverty rate exceeds 50 percent. Classes are inclusive of children dealing with physical and intellectual barriers. The VISTA activities will build capacity by determining the needs for arts and culture participation in communities of Mantua and Powelton Village; supporting the connection of local schools and school populations with Drexel’s Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships; and supporting overall related capacity building, resulting in community arts and culture programming that more effectively meets and serves the specific needs of our local schools and community organizations.
