FCS-BBBS SMS-Resource Sustainability VISTA

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Summit, Medina and Stark Counties is a growing organization. The mission of Big Brothers and Big Sisters is to create and support 1 to 1 mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. The vision of Big Brothers and Big Sisters is that all youth achieve their full potential. The major programs that BBBS offers is our Community Based and Site Based Mentoring. We strive to provide the tools necessary for children to meet their personal goals through a wealth of personalized activities geared to help a child broaden their horizons. A match support specialist oversees the match to ensure safety and meet the needs of everyone involved. We cultivate relationships, create opportunities to express feelings/opinions, encourage trying new things, and strive to build self-confidence. We have many organizations that need our services, but due to funding and lack of a concrete fund development plan, we are missing out on life-changing matches in schools and in the communities that we serve. The Resource Sustainability Vista will be responsible for working with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to build a long-term fund development strategy that will allow BBBS to expand services to schools and communities that we were not able to because of budget constrictions due to Covid-19. The Resource Sustainability Vista will be focused on building an infrastructure that will allow BBBS to further their resource development efforts and sustain those efforts long after the year is completed.
