Community Asset Activator

COVID-19 has highlighted how different the experiences of communities have been based on access to resources and the fragility of social safety nets. No one organization is tasked with building solutions that begin with a power shift to those facing the greatest barriers. This is why RMP’s framework is built to identify community assets to determine where programs, funding, policy and infrastructure can be reimagined to unite fractured efforts and create systemic change so systems can best serve vulnerable populations. Asset mapping is vital in identifying existing equity gaps towards post secondary credential attainment for marginalized populations in the Denver-Metro region. The VISTA Member will gather and inventory information about the strengths and resources of the region through asset mapping to identify gaps, prioritize initial actions, and accelerate impact. Systems transformation cannot happen without first identifying what strengths already exist and how to build on those strengths and fill existing gaps. The asset mapping process and analysis reveals those elements that catalyze change. This Vista Member in this position will continually strategize how to scale identified assets that will have the greatest impact on eliminating inequities to improve upward economic and social mobility for those facing the largest barriers, and demonstrate overall regional impact of asset mapping through data tools.
